Vickie, I was one of the Best Friends volunteers who helped with pet rescue after Katrina. I spent two weeks at their rescue center in Mississippi, where most of the animals were taken after being found on the New Orleans streets. It was a life-changing two weeks and I'll never forget the acres of pitbulls I worked with...changed my perception of pits forever. I fell in love with them.

I can't wait to read Cathy's book! I wonder if I met her while there?

Rod and I have been thinking of heading to Kanab this summer to do a bit of volunteer work at Best Friends during our vacation, and maybe we'll be able to do it in July!

Tammy-- Thanks so much for your note! We no doubt did meet. I was the one carrying the two little Chihuahuas all the time (including Lois Lane). Would be great to see you at the booksigning event. A ton of people will be there, including a bunch from both Tylertown and Celebration Station rescue centers.--Cathy (crscott@aol.com, www.cathyscott.com)
